Heather Needelman

Associate

Mrs. Needelman is an Associate at Goren Cherof Doody and Ezrol, P.A. Ms. Needelman’s primary areas of practice are include state and federal litigation; municipal and administrative matters; and contracts.  Ms. Needelman is also directly involved in the firm’s representation of governmental entities and serves as Assistant City Attorney.

Mrs. Needelman handles foreclosure and collection litigation matters on commercial and residential property relating to mortgage liens, municipal liens, and mechanic/contractor liens. In addition, Mrs. Needelman is engaged in advising municipalities on property related matters including historic preservation, chronic nuisance abatement, and unsafe structures pursuant to the Florida Building Code. Mrs. Needelman has drafted ordinances for municipal clients creating a historic preservation program and a chronic nuisance abatement program.

Mrs. Needelman also serves in the capacity as a municipal prosecutor, and assists municipal clients with petitioning Courts for Risk Protection Orders pursuant to Section 790.401, Florida Statutes, and appears in hearings on those petitions on behalf of the Firm’s municipal clients.

Additionally, Mrs. Needelman serves as counsel to municipal advisory boards advising of the State’s sunshine and public records law and has drafted a variety of legal memorandums relating to state and federal legislation, administrative rules, and regulations.

Prior to joining Goren Cherof Doody and Ezrol, P.A., Mrs. Needelman was a prosecutor for the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office and also was a legislative and policy advisor to a Miami-Dade County Commissioner. Mrs. Needelman previously was a member of a condominium board for three (3) consecutive terms.

Outside of the office, Mrs. Needelman enjoys spending time with her family, two dogs: Gracie and Hemingway, and in nature.
